Wrapping Up Another Year of Service

Published by Rachel Kaprielian on

Throughout the past year, we at Triangle have been busier than ever – celebrating new achievements and marking exciting new milestones. Triangle grew our reach across all programs by 800 people (an increase of 38% from last year!).

After coming on board in September as the new CEO, I’ve visited and engaged with our programs. I have been astonished at the determination that lies at the root of our work. While the work is rewarding in and of itself, make no mistake that our success – and that of our participants – is hard-earned and can come after months, or even years, of growth and development with our steady support. While we receive funding from state contracts, the annual revenue we receive does not adequately keep up with the inflated cost of living in Massachusetts. Moreover, the very nature of our services has dramatically evolved over time, and we now require a multi-disciplined approach to provide the person-centered care that empowers people with disabilities to pursue robust, fully engaged lives.

Donors are a critical element to our success and continue to fill a growing revenue gap to maintain our high service standards and fuel the innovation that has been the great pride of our programming since our beginnings.  Here’s how your support has led to our success:

  • Our Quality Assurance and Clinical team performs crucial assessments to deeply understand the needs of each person who comes through our doors. The individualized service plans developed are interdisciplinary, allowing for specialized supports from staff across the agency.
  • Triangle pioneered a “Technology Basics” course that helps fill the technology learning gap which exists for people with disabilities. These classes provide learners with lessons for day-to-day online skills to enhance their quality of life and prepare them for careers.
  • Triangle provides additional ways for our participants to engage in the local community, socialize with friends, and give back. Our annual Spirit Awards, Beach:Ability, and EPIC Service events, along with Piers Park adaptive sailing programs and the Bashers Special Olympic Softball team are all examples of how your donations supplement our day to day programming.

Few service providers offer this level of comprehensive clinical care, nor do they have the ability to provide supplemental learning and enrichment opportunities across their programs. In fact, many providers – due to a lack of resources – are unable to develop new programs at all to meet emerging needs in the disability community.  But at Triangle – thanks to the support of our donors – we continue to do all of those things and more.

So, as we close 2024 with tremendous momentum, we ask that you will continue – or even increase – your financial support of our programs.  Please know that with each passing year, your generosity becomes ever more important to our continued success in serving nearly 3,000 people each year.
