Triangle, Inc.’s 47th Annual Awards Ceremony and Fundraiser

On Wednesday, May 2nd, Triangle, Inc. held its 47th Annual Awards Ceremony & Fundraiser, Celebrate, at the JFK Library & Museum on Columbia Point in Dorchester. The beautiful weather and location allowed guests to soak in the sun with gorgeous views of the Boston skyline over the harbor. Nearly 200 guests, staff members, and participants came together to raise more than $100,000 in support of all of our programs. Event sponsors included Brookline Bank, Combined Properties, Clarks, State Street, Eastern Bank, Ipswitch, JB Hunt, CFG Brokerage Network, CVS Health, and, our presenting sponsor, the TJX Companies. Additional support and outreach was provided by our dedicated board members, many of whom donated silent auction items, solicited sponsorships, helped present awards, and/or brought their personal friends to the event to introduce them to Triangle’s important work. We were also happy to welcome Triangle board member, Representative Paul Donato as well as Representative Carolyn Dykema.

The event started with an extended period of food and networking, allowing guests to make new connections and learn more about our programs directly from Triangle, Inc.’s staff and participants. After wonderful opening remarks from our event emcee, Lauren Beckham Falcone from WROR’s Loren and Wally Show, our board president Mike McCurdy thanked everyone in attendance for their support. Triangle, Inc. CEO Coleman Nee provided shout-outs to elected officials and board members in the room before making time to acknowledge the true heroes of Triangle – the dedicated and compassionate staff members that work with our participants every day.

Senior staff members, Meg Stone, Rosa Ordaz, Taciana Saab, and members of Triangle, Inc.’s Board of Directors, Jessica Black and Rachel Kaprielian, did an outstanding job of presenting our honorees while providing keen insights and unique voices to the program.  If you haven’t had a chance to read about our honorees yet, please visit our blog to learn more about them and their important work. The awards concluded on an emotional note as we recognized Jhonny Bruno with the 2018 Ability Award, given annually to a program participant that has demonstrated exceptional dedication, hard work, and determination. The evening concluded with a fundraising appeal led by Jeff Gentry and a group of Triangle, Inc. participants telling their stories of how they have been impacted by our residential, EPIC, IMPACT:Ability, and employment programs. After already supporting the event through sponsorships and ticket purchases, our generous guests raised their hands to collectively raise an additional $18,000.
