Fundamentals of Environmental Services Program
The Fundamentals of Environmental Services Training Program is designed to give each participant the basic industry skills to gain employment in the professional cleaning industry. These trainings are community based and will be held in both Malden and Brockton. Participants in the training will learn the custodial tasks in a real-world environment as each session simulates a work-day.
Training participants will build a foundation for career growth in environmental services. Individuals will be supported by a qualified industry professional who will instruct our participants on a daily basis.
Employment
This is a Career Pathways job training program. Triangle, Inc. has partnered with various companies in both the Malden and Brockton areas who are in need of skilled custodial workers. Several individuals have gained competitive employment as a result of this program.

FAQs
Who is eligible for this program?
- Must be 18 years or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Malden program: Living in the Metro-Boston or North Shore area
- Brockton program: Living in the Metro-Boston or South Shore area
What will I learn in the program?
Cleaning & Sanitizing spaces along with janitorial safety procedures and Universal Precautions such as the use of gloves, masks, and other protective equipment. The use of cleaning equipment and up to date cleaning industry practices. In addition, other work-related skills taught are Time Management, Customer Service, communication, and teamwork.
How long is this training?
The training is 36 hours of on-site instruction, immediately followed by job preparation and job searching. Each participant must complete the entire 36 hours and make up any dates they are absent.
Is this a paid training?
Yes, a stipend is paid based on benchmarks achieved during the program.
Will I receive any certificates from this training?
Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the training. In addition, participants will have the opportunity for the following: CPR and AED online training and OSHA 10 certificate – both are optional for program graduates.
Do I need to secure employment after I complete the training?
Yes, participants in this program must seek and secure employment at the conclusion of the training. Triangle staff can provide support towards these efforts including preparation, application, and interviewing supports.
